SKY’S THE LIMIT

Observatory & Nature Center

(Just north of the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park on Utah Trail in 29 Palms)

 

PLUS A TELESCOPE WORKSHOP AT 5 PM

During the month of February, Jupiter is very close to Earth. A presentation  on  this  giant  planet  and  a  visit  by  the  ancient  astronomer  Galileo  will  entertain  and   educate  participants,  then  telescopes will be available to view Jupiter and other celestial objects. A workshop for those who would like help in assembling and/or using their own telescope will start at 5 PM.

Families and life-long learners of all ages are welcome at this free event. Register at the Twentynine Palms Park and Recreation Office at 74362 Joe Davis Road, next to the Skateboard Park or by calling 760-367-7562. For more information call Doris at 760-408-6099.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to bring water bottles, chairs, and their own telescopes, and to dress for unpredictable desert weather. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
